Education for Ministry Apply Here Now taking applications 2010 - 2011
Please contact the Reverend Fr. Dr. Paul Elliott, Th.D., to register. EFM is a program of study developed by the School of Theology of the University of the South. It involves study, theological reflection and worship. The course of study is roughly as follows: first year, old testament; second year, new testament; third year, church history; fourth year, modern theologians. While it is a four-year program, individuals commit for only one year at a time. EFM is for lay people, who face the difficult and often subtle task of interpreting the richness of the church's faith in a complex and confusing world. They need the kind of
theological education which supports their faith and which also trains them to
express that faith in day-to-day events. As the emphasis on lay ministry has
grown in the latter part of the twentieth century, EFM has come to be an
important part of that growth by providing a program that develops an informed
and knowledgeable laity. For more information, please contact the Reverend Fr. Dr. Paul A. Elliott, Th.D., at the church office, 770-469-8551 (ext 4#) or rector@stmichael.cc. Applications are available in the church office. Wednesday Morning Women's Bible Study
